How to trigger Shadowheart’s quest, Daughter of Darkness
- It would help if you had a strong enough relationship with Shadowheart and could rescue Halsin from the goblin camp in Act.
- During the celebration in your camp, speak to Halsin and ask him about the Underdark. He will mention a former stronghold of the Dark Justiciars, a secret group of Shar worshippers.
- Shadowheart will express her interest in finding the stronghold and becoming a Dark Justiciar. This will start her quest.
How to find the former stronghold of the Dark Justiciars in the Underdark
- You need to enter the Underdark through one of the possible entrances, such as the Selenite Temple, the Owlbear Cave, or the Zhentarim Hideout.
- You must explore the Underdark until you reach the Gauntlet of Shar, a temple dedicated to the goddess of darkness and loss.
- The Gauntlet of Shar is located in the northern part of the Underdark map, near the entrance to the Shadowcursed Lands.
- Undead and Sharran agents guard the Gauntlet of Shar. You will need to fight or sneak your way through them to enter the temple.
How to confront the Nightsong, a powerful Sharran priestess
- You need to obtain the Spear of Night, a magical weapon that can pierce the barrier protecting the Nightsong imprisoned in the lower level of the Gauntlet of Shar.
- To get the Spear of Night, complete the Dark Justiciar Trials, a series of puzzles and challenges that test your faith and devotion to Shar.
- The Dark Justiciar Trials are located in the eastern wing of the temple. You must use the Umbral Crystals to activate and solve the trials.
- After completing the trials, you can enter the Silent Library, where the Spear of Night is kept. You will need to solve one final puzzle to unlock the chest containing the spear.
- Once you have the Spear of Night, you can go to the temple’s lower level, where the Nightsong is chained. You must use the spear to break the barrier and free her.
